Best Fruit on the Planet!
We think we have found the best fruit on the planet, the fugu persimmon. It has actually been called the "fruit of the Gods" and if you haven't tried it, you must look for it in the stores. This is the time of year when
it is sold. I cut out the leaves and cut the fruit into pieces . . . . no need to peel because the skin is thin. The fruit is sweet and wonderful.
This was Kathy's lunch yesterday: persimmon, wheat cracker, cheese, and Greek olives. YUM!

When we were in CA people couldn't get rid of Persimmons fast enough! I always assumed they were gross and so i never tasted them! What a dummy. I'll buy one in the grocery store for you mama.
ReplyDeleteSo far this was the only post I didn't relish. Though we tried persimmons many time I never learned to like them much. However, just wait until you try dragon fruit (pity) or custard apples (Chermoya). You'll have some other new favorites.
ReplyDeleteThe word in parenthesis was supposed to say "pitaya."
