Parking Garages

The city of Jerusalem has an ingenious plan for their parking garages. The green lights in the garage indicate the stalls are empty and the red means they are not available. When you go into the garage, a camera takes a photo of your car and license plate. You park, take a ticket, and on your way out of the garage, you pay at a machine inside. When you leave, the camera operas the gate because it recognizes your car and plate and that you have paid. American garages should do the same. This parking garage is where we parked just outside the Old City. (click on the photo to view it larger and you can see the lights in the garage)
Dave at the wheel as we drive down a street in Jerusalem. We are truly fascinated with the people in Israel and so impressed that the women and even children dress so modestly. You seldom see a women running around in a short skirt, and if so, she is probably a tourist.
Women cover their heads to show respect for their God. It makes Mormon dress standards not seem so strict. I have yet to get a good photo because I feel I need to be discreet so I don't offend anyone and usually most photos like this are taken from the car.
This is a photo of one of the workers at the center. She is the sweetest little woman, age 60, who has never married and says the people at the center are her family. Every day when I see her I say, "Sammia, I need a hug!" She, in turn, spreads out her arms and we embrace. She lives very close to the Jerusalem Center and we can see where she lives from one of the windows.
