This afternoon the students from the Jerusalem Center were putting together humanitarian kits to be distributed to various charity organizations. It was fun to watch as they had several organized assembly lines as they rolled up towels, bars of soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes that were sealed into plastic bags. "Service is the rent we pay for living in this world," and it always warms my heart to see others involved in ways to help the needy. Jeff Smith and his wife, Joyce, (she has a pink shirt) are in charge of the humanitarian projects. Jeff is smiling here but I wonder if that will change when he has to drive the big van tonight? All the service couples are invited to Shabbot dinner at the home of a wonderful Jewish couple who are volunteer helpers at the Sunday night concerts.
