July 10th - A Special Day

Sunday was a special day in our family because our newest grand baby received a name and a blessing by his father, Keith. Keri is our third of four daughters and she and her husband were thrilled to welcome a baby boy into their family the 26th of May, G'pa Garth's birthday. Being so far away from our family has brought some sacrifices but photos certainly help bridge the gap and help us feel a little closer. Here are photos from a very special day.
When we saw blankets with "Bethlehem" embroidered on one corner, we knew we needed to send one to Taft for his blessing day. We couldn't be there but at least we could send a gift that he could keep in remembrance of loving grand parents from the Holy Land.
It always warms our hearts to know that we have at least two daughters who live close enough to share in such memorable events. Photo: Cousin Savannah, Auntie Michelle, cousin Elle, and Holland, Taft's oldest sister.
Photo: Keith's parents from Ohio.
Photo: Grandma Kathleen Smith with Taft.
Photo: Auntie Michelle and Taft. With two sisters and girl cousins in Utah, we know this little man will be smothered with lots of love and kisses.
Photo: Maria and Audrey, Taft's other sister. "Mamacita" Maria is wonderful and takes care of the children the days Keri works as a PA.

We are so proud of this little family and we look forward to the day when we will be together and can create more memories as a family. I love this quote: “Our family is a circle of strength of love and with every birth and every union the circle grows.”
Quote: Erma Bombeck sums up our feelings in this quote.
Photo: This past week we had a surprise visit when D. Todd Christofferson, his wife and family toured the center and it was not only an honor but a privilege to give them a private recital. Afterwards he said, "I wish I could stay here 6 hours and just listen to you play."

  1. What a wonderful complement from Elder Christofferson. Your children and grandchildren are darling. We had three grand babies born while we were away. All three received Bethlehem baby blankets from us too.
